Thanks to all who participated in the Trove Armchair Treasure Hunt!

THE HUNT WAS SOLVED ON July 16, 2020.

Read the details on my blog.

WHAT’S THE PRIZE?

This handcrafted sterling silver cuff bracelet worth $2,200. It’s embedded with two sapphires, two citrines, a ruby, an emerald, and a pearl that were all treasures from jewels in my trove.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Anyone of any age. You just need my memoir, Trove: A Woman’s Search for Truth and Buried Treasure.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

Ah! Great question. I’ll be releasing clues on my blog and on social media every two weeks. If you sign up for my blog you won’t miss any clues. Once you have a clue, you can try and figure out the answer. But you’ll likely need all eight clues (yep, there are eight) to figure out where X marks the spot.

You can subscribe to my blog at SandraAMiller.com or follow along on social media:

SO THIS TREASURE HUNT IS ALL ONLINE?

Kind of. In an armchair treasure hunt (It’s a thing. Check out my friend’s website Mysterious Writings), you can solve all of the clues online. But then when you think you know where the numbered stone is hidden, you have to go to that place and search for it.

NUMBERED STONE?

Yes. That’s the “token” that you’re looking for. The first person who finds the stone needs to email me a photo of them holding it—both sides. You can send that to Sandra@SandraAMiller.com. If it’s the one I’ve hidden, I’ll send them the bejeweled bracelet. You can also send someone to search for you, but I’ll only send one person the bracelet…obviously.

WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?

Because I wrote a memoir about searching for ten thousand gold coins (and other stuff, too, like love and purpose), and I want my readers to experience the fun, bafflement and satisfaction that comes with decoding clues in a treasure hunt and then actually going out and searching. Basically, I’m crazy about treasure hunting and hope you fall in love with it, too.

COOL! SO WHERE IS THE STONE HIDDEN?

I’m not telling! But here’s what you need to know: It’s somewhere in New England in a public place. At no point do you have to go on private property or do any digging. And for those of you who read my book and think “Aha! It’s in a community garden,” I’m telling you now that it is absolutely NOT in a community garden. That would be way too obvious.

ANY OTHER HINTS?

Read the book. Look around. There’s treasure everywhere.
